Chalfont Common Sense
sensewas formed by concerned members of the Chalfont St. Peter community when the National Society for Epilepsy (NSE) announced in July 2003 that it was seeking planning permission to sell of a large part of its Green Belt site to property developers.
After reviewing their proposals sense decided to oppose the NSE's plans as did the local planning authority, Chiltern District Council (CDC). The NSE appealed this decision to the Planning Inspectorate who upheld CDC's decision in November 2005.

Since November 2005 the NSE's planning applications have been less contoversial and more in keeping with the local community. We hope this continues and that they are successful both in their research efforts and in caring for their long-term residents.

sense consider it now to be reasonable to remove from its Website the detailed content relating to the original NSE proposal.
